Quick Product Info At A Glance
I-TACROL (Tacrolimus) is a superior immunosuppressive drug. It is a Macrolide antibiotic derived from the bacteria Streptomyces tsukubaensis and known as Fujimycin but used for it’s immunosuppressant activity only and not for it’s antibiotic action.
Mode of action:
Tacrolimus reduces peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity by binding to the immunophilin FKBP12 (FK506 binding protein) creating a new complex. This FKBP12-FK506 complex interacts with and inhibits calcineurin thus inhibiting both T-lymphocyte signal transduction and IL-2 transcription.

Inhibition of T-Lymphocytes activation leads to no antibodies production and eventually no immunological reactions caused in Atopic Dermatitis.
Indications:
- Eczema, particularly atopic dermatitis

- Psoriasis
Side effects:
Increase in the severity of existing Viral, fungal and bacterial infections and increased vulnerability to opportunistic fungal and viral infections.
