Background of the development
Docetaxel also belongs to TAXOL group of Anti-cancer drugs. It is poorly absorbed if given through oral route as it is a p-glycoprotein inhibitor and this limits its use only to an injectable drug.

The injectable Docetaxel is presently available as a formulation in a Polysorbate surfactant concentrate which is not easy to disperse in its solvent due to its gelling property. This causes uneven dispersion of drug in the resultant solution.

Some times after mixing concentrate and solvent, Docetaxel starts seeding as the crystalline precipitate making it unusable. This crystallization sometimes happens after adding the premix solution to infusion drip solution.

Both poor oral absorption of Docetaxel molecule and difficulties associated in parenteral administration of Docetaxel injection suggest the need of a high bioavailable oral formulation.

A bioequivalent oral formulation in contrast to the existing Docetaxel Injection would solve both the issues; poor absorption and difficulties associated in parenteral administration.

Our ORAL DOCETAXEL PREPARATION is water soluble, non-toxic to G.I. tract and stable at room temperature. It can be easily administered orally after dissolving in drinking water.
